Get the facts straight, please. There are no photos of 'homosexual rape' or rape of any kind.

The senators themselves (such as D-Senator Bill Nelson of Florida and R-Senator McCain of Arizona, so you have two senators from both sides of the aisle), who have viewed the photos, say there are no such rape acts in them.

Since your opinion seems to be in disagreement with every major news site I can find, perhaps you would be so kind as to source the 'facts' you say I have wrong?

Already did in another thread.

But to expand on that;

And on Big Story with John Gibson (the one today, 4 pm central showing) he was interviewing Andre Hollis who has viewed the photos. He stated:

'There are no photos of Americans murdering Iraqis.'

And

'There are no photos of American's sexually abusing Iraqis.'

Cool, I guess he (Hollis) wouldn't mind sending his kids over to my house sometime so I can make them pose naked for me in lewd positions, which is apparently not sexual abuse. Bill Nelson's actual quote:

QUOTE
BILL NELSON: Some of the videos are more disturbing than the still photos that you've seen.

LEIGH SALES: Senator Nelson said the quality of the video footage was poor.

BILL NELSON: You could not say that there was actually the act of sodomy, but it appears that that may be the preparation for it, for what we saw. I did not see a rape. I specifically asked about that. I did not see a video of either a rape of a male prisoner or a female prisoner.

-Soldier in prisoner abuse photos says she was acting under orders

It may not be documented, but the allegation of a prisoner being sodomized with a chemical light is certainly given some validity by the nature of what was filmed. What's really making me ill is the claim by some Congressmen and women that this is no different than fraternity hazing. Ummm, many people don't join fraternities because lying in a naked pile of other men in order to be able to pay for living with them and some other guys pursuant an ideal of "Greek brotherhood" isn't exactly appealing (the freaky stories of what Skull and Crossbones does suggest Mr.s Bush and Kerry disagree). Being forced to do so, far short of the worst of the allegations, is nothing like hazing, a crime inflicted on all-too eager "victims".

Ive read from many sources that there are photos or videos of men being sodomized with chemical breaklights? This isnt homosexual rape? I bet if it happened to your son youd call it rape.

Im soooo tired of all these word mincing conservatives on this issue. I think they followed Bill Clinton too closely for too long. Its not torture, its abuse. Its not rape, its just abuse. Its not outrageous, its outrageous to be outraged. Blah blah blah. Next theyll want the definition of 'is'.

LEASH GAL'S SEX PIX

The article's title referred to her, but the quote by Senator Nelson didn't involve the kinky young lady.

keric,

There may not have been "photos" of rapes, but there were rapes according to the Tabuga report.

"Sodomizing a detainee with a chemical light and perhaps a broom stick."

The Taguba Report

Keric, it was rape and it was torture and it's OK to admit it.

Those soldiers who committed these crimes need to be brought to justice in a very public way. The worst thing we as Americans could do is to try and minimize this in any way.

In reference to the question of this thread, it appears Kerry has distanced himself from Kennedy's statement.

QUOTE
"They were sickening, appalling, depraved and sad.  I don't believe they represent our country, they don't represent our values, I know they don't represent the vast majority, the 99.9 percent of our courageous soldiers who are serving our nation with distinction."

I'm not all certain why pictures of rape or other things like that have to do with Kennedy's statements. unsure.gif I believe that he was correct in making such critical comments. While we may not agree on whether or not rape occured, we can concur that (a)torture was used; (b)illegal tactics that wouldn't be condoned by the Geneva Convention were used; © the logic that torture didn't end, but rather, took an American twist(no pun intended) is what is of issue here. I have yet to hear how the management of torture just simply changed hands or how the gentleman from Massachusetts erred in making his statement.
