Hi, I'm new here and I have a few questions.

First, I don't seem to be able to start any topics anywhere except in this forum. Is there a reason for that? I can't find anything anywhere that states why that would be. When I click on new topic it simply states that I don't have permission but doesn't bother to tell my why or what I can or should do about it (if anything).

Also, I can't post to the Libertarian forum (which was the main reason I signed up). It says that I haven't declared myself a Libertarian. When I registered, I selected Libertarian as my party affiliation, so I don't know what else I'm suppose to do to 'declare' myself Libertarian.

Anyway, thanks.

When you are brand new to America's Debate, you have to post a small number of replies to other people's existing threads before you can start your own independent topic. It is covered in the Survival Guide under "Starting New Topics" at this link:

As soon as you post some replies, you'll find that ability to post new topics of your own is enabled for your account. smile.gif

Ah, OK.

Thanks. Appreciate it.

Hi Malachi. Maybe you missed my welcome PM to you that explained why we don't allow new members to start threads. If not, check this post out: link

And to add what A-C said, getting to start new threads is privilege granted, but it's not just a matter of making a few posts. You must also show an interest in being part of the community. It doesn't really take much. We hope you join in some debates with us. smile.gif
