I think the title is pretty self-explanatory. To be honest it is going to take me awhile to pick the rest of the cabinet but I got two positions filled
Secretary of State: Pat Buchanan, his paleo-con approach to foreign policy matches my ideas to a tee. Would not want him to be President due to some huge differences on domestic issues and foreign trade, but he is my Secretary of State.
Secretary of Defense: Colin Powell, I think he would rather be Secretary of Defense in a Paleo-con administration than his current position in a neocon administration.
I'm considering Paul Volcker for the Treasury spot.

Sec. Of Defense: Colin Powell- when talking about military situations, the man knows what he is talking about
Sec. of State: That's a hard one...i'd have to sleep on that one

State: Dennis Ross, a top diplomat, negotiator and Middle East expert with tons of common sense and more than enough no-nonsense.
Defense: Jack Welch if he'd take it. DoD needs a top to bottom housecleaning, and maybe the guy who did that for GE could handle it if anybody could.
Energy: Jerry Pournelle, because he understands the science and has a solid plan for energy independence.
Education: None, abolish the department. There should be no federal role in education.
Attorney General: Bob Barr, who can be counted on to be just as tough on terrorists as Ashcroft, but with respect for the Constitution and for civil liberties.
Drug Czar: None, abolish the position, end the Drug War.
I'll have to think about the rest.

I'll throw in my VP choice also, Ron Paul. If I can't abolish the department, I would nominate either Cheech or Chong for drug czar.

Dept. of Justice:
Judge Judy. She takes no crap from anybody. Hears evidence in 10 minutes and rules in one, based on facts. She rules with honesty, is aware of the consequences and never fumbles for words. She rarely errs. Compare that to Ashcroft.
Secretary of Defense:
Jerry Springer. Despite his propensity for melodrama, he always allows combatants to reveal all truths to the public. He brings together enemies and forces them to conront their differences in full view of the public. No secrets here. He drives them to the point of violence, but always has people on hand to quell it. He has therapysts on hand when necessary, to help people whose intelligence leave them when overcome by emotion. Many of the former enemies return as frineds or stay away from each other. Compare that to Rumsfeld.
Secretary of State:
Michael Palin. Tough call between him and Colin Powell. Yeah, I know that Michael's British but if the job is about uplifting our reputation abroad there is no bettter man for the job. I watched his "Around the World in 80 days" and he was loved by all people wherever he travelled. I am sure that Colin is initially received in the same way, but then he gets home and becomes muddled and frustrated by instructions from his boss. I don't know whether Michael has the stomach to stand up to his boss, but I suspect that he does. That's why he gets my vote. I could be wrong.
Dept. of Homeland Security:
Tom Ridge should stay. Not sure what impact he has, but he seems like a nice guy.
The others:
Don't know who they are, but does it matter? Let them stay. They mustn't have caused any harm, or else I would know their names. Right?

Hmm...
If I was prez....
VP: hmmmm... a tough one... I'd like Bush Sr. but his age is up there. I wanna stick Colin Powell in my list, but VP is such a worthless job, unless I managed to tee somone off and get assassinated. Then Colin Powell would be prez which I think he'd be good at so, Powell for VP.
Sec. of Defense: Wesley Clark... I mean, the guy commanded all of NATO's armed forces, you'd think he'd know how to run the military.
Sec. of State: John McCain... He has some diplomatic potential shown with his involvement in Vietnamese relations, which are growing with the US. It's time to see what he can do at the next level.
Sec. of Treasury: Warren Buffett... Look up the price of
one share of
Berkshire-Hathaway stock and tell me he's not qualified.
NSA: General Richard Meyers... A military man with good credibility who could be trusted to sift out the garbage and establish what are the threats and the solutions for said threats.
Attorney General: Hillary Clinton...maybe?

I couldn't tell you.
...And that would be
Theorello La Guardia if I'm not mistaken
Muse.

If your hubby got the job, could you get him to get us jobs at the Pentagon!
And interestingly enough, I'm not alone with my Warren Buffett pick.

Hee hee

I dont' think you'd like working at the Pentagon, Titus. Everyone I know who has done it says it was the most frustrating and depressing experience of their life. But, ask and you shall receive...Mr P will look you up when he's Secretary of Defense.

Warren Buffet is outstanding.
