It's been a rough several weeks for Bush supporters, not a whole lot of good news to talk about, our guy getting trashed on pretty much a daily basis and so on and so on. But to quote someone, "This too my son shall pass", and the bad news will I think. No question the events at Abu Ghraib have outraged most Americans and most certainly the partisan Democrats are going to milk that for all it's worth in this election season, but that's not going to go on forever. The news will change and people will tire of the same old garbage being spewed by people like Kennedy and Algore. On the bright side, politically at least, while President Bush's numbers are down, Kerry's aren't going anywhere. This is astounding if you think about it. Kerry is not gaining favor with the American people. Not at all. There is a core group out there, and we see some of them here that just simply hate President Bush. He could bring world peace, cure cancer, poverty and hunger, walk on water tomorrow and they'd still hate him. That seems to be the large majority of the Kerry political base, and he's not winning any converts.
Kerry supporters(?) and I use that term loosely because I think most of the ABB crowd really only supports him because he's not Bush, are positively giddy over the prospect of a Kerry/McCain ticket. This despite repeated denials by John McCain that he would run and that he is campaigning and supporting President Bush's re-election. Still though, the rumors and calls for such a thing exist. Why? One answer might be that the "Kerry people" don't really like Kerry that much and they are hoping to have someone on the ticket that they could at least like to vote for.

And, apparently, there isn't anyone in their own party they like, so they want to raid ours.
I've noticed a drop off in postings from many Republicans in this forum recently and I'm hoping that's because there hasn't been a whole lot of positives recently to post about. I hoping it's not because you've left this forum. Anyway, brighter days are ahead I think. The economy is improving and once the 30June hand over happens in Iraq, I think things there are going to improve immensely. SO keep the faith and check in here with an answer to this question....
If you think it's tough to be a Bush supporter, would you rather be supporting Kerry at this point?
