I have gotten some complaints from some of our more liberal members that this site is "too conservative." While I agree a majority of the posts lean to the right, I can not fault the conservatives for frequently speaking their mind.

Liberals and Independents: the ONLY way conservatism can be countered is to voice your opinion. If you think the site is too conservative, speak up and post. If you think it's dominated by too many conservatives, invite your liberal or independant friends to join you and back you up.

America's Debate will not censor or even reduce the flow of conservative posts. We will, however, post every post that comes in - liberal, independant or conservative.

Hell yes!!! Who are these whiny people? If you'd like a liberal site, invite some lefties to the site. The creators are conservative, and as such, attract a CONSERVATIVE clientele. WTF? Do you liberals have any common sense or logical thought at all?
Jaime
I respectfully decline to accept the title of conserative. tongue.gif

Once I would have been proud to wear that label, since GW got into office I find I'm much more libertarian.

I proudly state that I’m conservative. I stand for the principles and values that my forefathers stood for. The founding fathers are my inspiration and God is the reason for our success in this nation. To hear that Liberals don’t want to debate because there is too much conservative posts on here to me says two things. 1. That they truly are liberals, and they want the easy way out. They don’t want to have to deal with us conservative minded with out strong beliefs and faith in god. That truly demonstrates the Liberal mind set. 2. that despite the Liberal mindset of conservatives being just a bunch of backwater hillbillies they are afraid that when put face to face the liberal ‘feel good’ politics and ideologies will fall apart. You know the saying “The Truth will Set you Free” if liberals used their brains for once and stopped “feeling good” then they too would follow the conservative ideology.

Bring it on Liberals!!!

All right folks. Here's the deal.

I am conservative. This is a fact.

If you don't know by now, I run this site. This is my creation.

While the main reason I started this site was to open communication between normal Americans, the secondary reason was that I simply want to defeat liberals.

I can debate other conservatives until the cows come home (I own no cows, btw), but that's not really that appealing to me.

Don't get me wrong, I do like debating the finer points of party politics with other conservatives, but nothing beats arguing big issues with liberals.

The reason we are packed with conservatives here? Well, a lot of the members are family or friends, and those people are mostly conservatives.

Believe me, I want liberals. I want the earth-saving, wealth-redistributing, oppressed, anti-choice, free-everything-for-everyone liberals that are out there.

Apparently, though, they don't want to participate. I am advertising this site equally to conservatives and liberals.

Here are the statistics from Google since we've started this site:

Searchword..........Clicks.....Displays
Democrat ..................1..........15
Liberal.......................1..........18
Libertarian.................1...........6
Conservative.............2..........20
Republican.................1..........28
Policy........................3........437
Politics - Political........6........371

As you can see, liberals and conservatives have had near equal opportunity. They have been equally exposed to the site.

Remember, folks, we've only been around for 3 weeks. This is only the beginning.

Not to get into the difference between political thinking, but here's a prime example of the difference:

Conservatives get involved and post. They do it for themselves. They tell other conservatives, and they in turn tell even more conservatives.

The liberals don't get involved. They want someone else to do it. They blow past the site and figure it's not for them. They need someone (Mr. Gore) to fight for them Well, that's not my fault.

If you are liberal, then tell everyone you're liberal. Post your thoughts, and dispute others'. Post in "Democrat Debate". Post in "Independent Debate". Just post!

If you're liberal and your argument is so strong, then why haven't you posted it? How come you haven't recruited your other liberal friends to back you up? I am only one person with a limited budget. How about you pay for some ads? No? Then don't complain about the people we've attracted.

Here's my final thought on this (and no, I'm not Jerry Springer tongue.gif ):

If you don't like the way this is going, then leave. This is free. There is no censorship going on (except inappropriate language). Hell, I'll even give you your money back.

Oh wait -- THIS SITE IS FREE !

Sorry if you are offended by what I said. I don't take whining very well.

Do ya guys feel better, now that you have only proven the opinion that any liberals had out there about you type of people. I don't concider myself liberal or conservative. I judge each issue on an individual basis. I don't make a decision on something simply based on the stance that my political party has on it. To throw everybody into a liberal/conservative stereotype, ruins the point of a debate; because you have made your decision about whether the person is right or wrong before you have read what they had to say. I see a lot of responces to posts in which it has been very obvious that the person responding obviously didn't really read more than the first sentence or what they assumed was the general idea of the previous post. This shows no respect or open mindedness for the individuals opinion. Ya never know, maybe your opinion isn't as right as your political party is. Also, resorting to name calling is just immarture and a sign of someone who obviously doesn't really care about the facts and is more interested in personal attacks.

you type of people

Oh dear, Kisov, you're gonna get reamed on that one. Just thought I'd warn you.

Am I lumped in that "you people" since I started this topic?

I agree that not everyone reads and fully rebuts to some posts. This can be difficult due to the fact that some posts are long and cover multiple points.

I further agree with you that name calling, and I'll take it one step further and add swearing, are completely unneccessary and only serve to diminish the power of one's argument.

First of all, I think anyone who actually gets on here and posts is cool…we are speaking our mind and having fun. I don’t want to attack anyone personally but I have to say a few things. First saying that you don’t make up your mind until faced with the issue means you are a moderate…along with the growing majority of America. Being a moderate means you have no ideological backing behind anything, you’ll just wait for the majority to form then hop oh that bandwagon. If you don’t have your mind made up long before the issue is at hand, you might make a decision that you will regret. In the heat of the moment decision are made based on core beliefs. And if you don’t have those core beliefs then your decision making process has a slow start.

I say I’m conservative, not Republican, but conservative. The republican party is about winning elections, my views are about morally correct. An answer is not right unless it is morally the right answer…I don’t care about what is politically the right move, or what is cheaper, I care about morals. This is why my mind is made up already, I do have an open mind, if someone can prove the moral superiority of an idea then I applaud them.

Finally I just want to make my view clear…the issues are ALWAYS black and white, good or bad. There is no gray area. I know what you saying, that is so closed minded. Well why doesn’t everyone stop telling me that I’m close minded and open their minds to see why I would feel that way.

Clarity on every issue is very refreshing, you should try it.

I’m glad you already have all the answers drmarcus. Unfortunately, I’ve been wrong in the past, and I’ll probably be wrong again. Well okay its very, very rare, but it has happened… wink.gif

I honestly think most people, if they actually sat down and thought critically about the issues, would find that when it comes to some things they are “conservative” and when it comes to others they are “liberal”. Different things are going to be more important to them for all sorts of reason. Just because someone doesn’t believe in everything that the “liberal agenda” or the “moral majority” does, doesn’t mean they don’t have strong beliefs. Nor does it, necessarily, make them a “moderate.” The last thing that anybody who knows me would call me is “moderate.”
