There is a group that was created back in 1998 called the Ronald Reagan Leagacy Project that has been trying many different ways to remember the former president with the help of several republicans in our congress right now. Over the last year they wanted to change FDR's face on the dime as well as change Hamilton's face on the $10 bill to Reagan's

GOP lawmakers trying to put Reagan on dime, get FDR off

QUOTE
Republican lawmakers steamed over an unflattering television movie about Ronald Reagan are pushing to get his image on the dime in place of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's.

Supporters of the "Ronald Reagan Dime Act" said Roosevelt and his government-expanding New Deal represented decades past, while Reagan's conservative, anti-communist administration ushered in society as it exists today.

The dime has borne Roosevelt's profile since 1946, a year after his death, in part commemorating his support for the March of Dimes, which was created to fight polio.

Monetary memorial? That's the $10 question

QUOTE
WASHINGTON — Former president Ronald Reagan's name has been enshrined on everything from an airport outside Washington to a turnpike in Florida to a mountain in New Hampshire. Now his most fervent fans have a new memorial in mind: the $10 bill.
Once Reagan's body has been interred on Friday, leaders of the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project will launch a campaign in Congress to put Reagan's visage in the space now occupied by founding father Alexander Hamilton.

Hamilton may be remembered most for a fight he lost — a duel of honor against Vice President Aaron Burr in 1804 that left him fatally wounded. But Hamilton was also a Revolutionary War hero, George Washington's chief of staff, an author of the Federalist Papers and a Treasury secretary who created many of the financial and economic systems that survive today.

The idea of replacing FDR entirely had enough opposition — even from Nancy Reagan — that the group scaled back a bit.

Ronald Reagan Legacy Project

QUOTE
The Ronald Reagan Legacy Project's mission is to honor and memorialize the historic achievements of President Ronald Reagan.  It aims to do so by naming at least one notable public landmark in each state and all 3067 counties after the 40th president.

In recognition of President Reagan's leadership role in the defeat of communism, the Project also seeks to honor his memory in formerly communist countries.

Grover Norquist's Statement on President Reagan's Death

QUOTE
The Ronald Reagan Legacy Project is dedicated to promoting the legacy of President Ronald Reagan's leadership by working toward one significant monument named after him in each of America's 50 states, as well as some dedication in every county in America. To date, more than 60 monuments have been dedicated to the former president, such as Mount Reagan in New Hampshire.

Republicans pushing adoration of Ronald Reagan across country

QUOTE
Ronald Reagan has a Washington airport named after him.

Also, an aircraft carrier, a Cincinnati highway, a California courthouse, a Georgia street, an Illinois middle school and a conservative studies foundation in Texas. His smile adorns a flattering set of stamps from Grenada, the island nation invaded by U.S. forces when Reagan was commander in chief.

The grandest ambition of Reagan supporters is a monument on the National Mall. To go forward, however, Congress would need to rewrite the law that forbids construction of a memorial on the Mall within 25 years of an honoree's death. The president who signed the 1986 bill into law: Ronald Reagan.

Ohio Lawmaker Wants Reagan Added To Mount Rushmore

My questions are as follows:

1. Do you think we should change the face of the dime, $10 bill, or any monetary note with our former president Ronald Reagan?

2. Do you think we should add Ronald Reagan to Mount Rushmore?

3. Do you think we should have one significant monument in every state as well as in every county across the country named after Ronald Reagan?

All I can think of is "why?"- I mean, he did not lead us through a war that threatened our existance (such as FDR) or make reforms that benefited millions and perhaps even saved our nation and gave us a legacy of success (FDR again) or really do anything of a positive nature that would ever be something that would be considered a positve legacy for all Americans. He never helped pass an amendment that would guaruntee a freedom, and in fact, worked very hard to make sure non=christians had a much harder time in this nation.

It would be defacing anything to put his name or face to it. The man is responsible for enabling possibly one of the most hateful and discusting groups in modern US history- Pat Robertson and the Christian coalition.

To put his face on Rushmore, with the leader who got us through the civil war and freed the slaves, the man who wrote our constitution, the man who founded our nation, and the man who set the stage for us to become the most powerful nation in the world, is a disgrace to our nation and to the monument. Reagan is truly not fit to lick the boots of those great men, much less be remembered with them.

We're gonna have to wait a week or so before we start debating Mr. Reagan's memory/legacy.
