What happened to the button on top of the site that leads to the chatroom?

Im wondering that too, because since the death of President Ragen i would think people would be in chat. Hmmmm.

Last time I checked they were having technical problems with the chat, I think we cancelled the last scheduled chat do to the difficulties.

The Chat Room is down.

We are hoping to have it restored by the 15th.

The chatroom isn't necessarily down, we are choosing not to use it. We know that everyone enjoys the chats, and we hope to get them back as soon as possible.

We lost ownership of our room on the server when they merged with three other chat servers, and we haven't been able to get it back yet. On top of that, the track record for the last several chats has not been good. They have been riddled with technical problems that are outside our control.

I've been looking into getting our own IRC server, used by our site only. The costs to do this are minimal-- only about $15 a month. The hard part is getting it setup. Apparently there is a lot of configuration, and I have no idea how to do it.

If anyone has experience in setting up an IRCd with services through a shell account, please contact me. Likewise, if anyone knows any company that markets managed virtual IRC servers, please let me know. I'd really like to get the chat going again.
