Nothing. It has much to do about nothing and the Democrats are running on this because basically they have nothing else. For all the "so-called" Indepedants out there ol' Jim Jeffords is saying this is a bunch of crap.

The Republican party needs to distance themselves from idiots like Lott. I think Bush handled the situation well. It could have been alot worse.

Well, I am glad to see Lott gone as the Senate Majority leader, not because of his remark, but because he wasn't a very strong leader in my opinion. We'll see how Frist does, but I would have preferred someone like Don Nichols in that position.

Sooner or later though, hopefully sooner, the Republicans do have to stop eating their own and caving everytime someone says something nasty about them in the Washington Post or New York Times.

The Republican party was right to put pressure on Lott. Segregation is not something this nation should be proud of, and it is wrong and offensive that Trent Lott should imply that it was. I hope he doesn't get re-elected.

That being said, I really don't think Democrats have much to say about Lott. Not with guys like ex-Klansman Senator Byrd hanging around.

In retrospect I guess it was a good thing, since Lott needed to be replaced for not being a good leader anyway. I would have preferred Mitch McConnell but Frist does seem better than Lott so far.
