The frustration I am facing in the current debate about legalizing prostitution is that I can't seem to get an answer to the following. I thought that if we started a new debate on this one question maybe we could get to the bottom of it.


Question for Debate:

What are the harms prostitution perpetrates on society that would be continued or worsened by legalization of the trade?

None that I can think of. In fact legalizing it would get the prostitutes off of the streets. They could have legitimate brothels. This would stop them from soliciting kids or even worse, exposing themselves to kids. There would be the obvious taxing and minimum standards such as mandatory health evaluations once a month. I don't think I would ever use the service but thats my personal decision.

While we appreciate your frustrations with certain aspects of the other debate, this all can be debated in the other thread, though.
