Started early enough you could have a show that had several contestants in the running for the various titles. A show down to see who gets to be the candidate for one of three parties. Dem Repub and Third. Third would be open to whoever and would really depend on the strength of the contestants be they in actuality Green Lib or just a wild eyed Indie.
Say a year before the election was to be held. This would give the candidates and the sponsoring networks a chance to raise the signatures needed to get them on the ballots.
The first "season" of shows would be the run offs for the candidate spots (alright the Repubs and Dem spot would in actuality be "third" party as well but you never know do you.
The second season would be timed to coincide with the election themselves.
once a week they would be placed in situations where they must defend their platforms. Debates town halls and so forth.
1. What do you think? could the signatures be raised?
2. could they have a shot at actually being elected?
3. Would you vote for someone who comes out in such a fashion?
4. How much of a stink would this raise both here in the states and even internationally?
5. If successful would this be fair to the standard candidates, could they even compete?
