if for example, he changes his mind and becomes a libertarian instead of a liberal -- I'd definitely consider voting for him.
He's a "liberal"?? Who said? Or is it just because he's a Democrat? I'm confused here.

Well, it is a bit early to tell. It would certainly be unusual if a black Democratic Senator from Illinois turned out
not to be a liberal, but stranger things have happened. By the time voting for him for President becomes a possibility he'll have made many more speeches and compiled a Senate voting record, and then we'll know for sure.

I saw his speech.
It was good. I am not sure if I am willing to go with incredible or anything. But, it certainly got people talking--and that was good.
President? Who knows. There are two many things that he could screw up between now and then for us to really say for sure.
But, he was impressive. Especially because he brought a...different flavor to the Democratic party. Sometimes the Dem's seem to parade around these highly inspirational, yet incredibly antagonizing African-American folks--like Sharpton and Jackson. Now, Obama! He would have none of that. He came out there, looked non-flamboyant and serious. I felt that he was saying, hey I'm a black dude, and I went to Harvard, and I can play this game on two levels--and I'll probably win. In other words, Obama looked like he could really do the job.
Now that I really think about it, maybe he was the "dream" candidate.
I sure hope so.
