"President George W. Bush's top three priorities in 2002 -- national security, homeland security, and economic security -- earned him high approval ratings across the nation and a victory in Yahoo!'s first annual Person of the Year, a year-end poll to name the noisemaker and/or newsmaker of 2002."

Does that make GWB numero uno yahoo?

Seriously though, what's the difference between national security and homeland security? Shouldn't it be international security?

What is with that? I guess more 'projects', however redundant, sound better than one good project. Perhaps it makes it sound like he's doing more. Who knows?

What is so funny is that people will print that. Kind of like saying, "I've got a child. I've got a little girl. I've got a preschooler". No, I don't have three kids, just one preschool aged daughter.

This reminds me of the "People's Choice Awards" in which our brilliant populace routinely selects best motion picture performers "of the year" who haven't made a film in half a decade. In this case, that same discerning population has nominated a man who has never done anything of much significance.

Initially, I thought this was the sort of thing which should make me somewhat less proud of being an American. Then I looked into Yahoo's methodology. The ten finalists were culled from "the most searched-for people, the most frequently viewed photos and news articles, and related Buzz Index results to determine whom users were most interested in this year". By those criterai, the nominees could have included the people of whom Yahoo users were most terrified. Considering that Dubya was up against such heady competition as Britney Spears, Howard Stern, and the Osbourne family, the results aren't all that surprising. I'm looking for odds on Yahoo's Outstanding Inhabitant of the Known Universe for 2003 being Rob Schneider.

The Biography Channel made him #1 for 2nd in a row

Bush MIGHT JUST GET Re-Elected if he's this popular. cool.gif

I'd vote for him. He's good. He's held the nation together during the 9/11 attacks. us.gif us.gif

I don't blame him for the ailing economy because i think Clinton's 90's "boom" was a cover for the CEO Book Cooking that was exposed all 2002. dry.gif
