Okay, let me put it this way- if you read anything by David Duke post-repudiation of the KKK- you would call him a racist and toss his statements out- now- you have Thomas Sowell- that prints very similar, of not exactly, the same thing- what makes them so different?
For instance- David Duke is against affirmative action- and so is Thomas Sowell-
and in fact, thier articles are very similar
http://www.capmag.com/article.asp?ID=2637http://www.duke.org/library/immigration/bizarreaffact.htmlIt was when I was reading many of Sowell articles that I came across the similarities in white supremists articles - it was not intentional, something I was looking for- then I started looking at actual white supremists (the ones that try to legitimize themselves through reasoned debate vs just anti-jew and black diatribes) and I was really struck by the similarity in both content and "emotional target" of the writing.
I will take it one step further- here is the definition of Uncle Tom:
Uncle Tom
noun {C usually singular} OFFENSIVE DISAPPROVING
a black person who is considered to be too eager to agree with white people or too willing to be treated in a way that is not equal to white people
Now- why would Sowell, target his books to a VERY predominately WHITE male audience that wants to agree with him? I am sure Sowell is not selling out books to Blacks LOL- if his main audience was a black author trying to get the black community to change thier ways or what have you, it would be different- but his books are CLEARLY not targeted to anyone but the conservative white reader.
