Anyone watch Southpark aside from myself? I love it, but I catch Hell because it "degrades minorities, women, cripples, mentally challenged, etc." dry.gif

I just think Southpark old & the material is used up. When it was new I'll admit I watched AND I laughed. However, I think The Simpsons will forever be a better show.

Southpark doesn't force any thought. It's crassness is laid out in plain view. It was funny at first, but it got old fast.

The Simpsons are much more subtle in their humor. I find myself watching Simpsons' episodes over and over and often seeing new jokes I didn't see before. That simply doesn't happen with Southpark.

I actually haven't watched South Park in years. The effects wore off for me quite quickly.

I do, however, believe that Comedy Central has the right to produce the show, and you should be able to watch it if you want.

I think that kids are sometimes exposed to issues like racism, gender issues, etc. for the first time through South Park, and I think that can be bad.

But I don't blame the folks at South Park for that. If the parents let their kids watch it, and haven't already addressed the issues the show covers, then shame on the parents.

What some people don't realize that just because you watch a particular show doesn't mean you subscribe to it's message. I like to watch TV specials. I don't care what the topic is, I just like learning.

So if I watch a war special, does that make me a "war lover"? No.
If I watch a show on serial rapists, does that make me a serial rapist? No.

Some people just need to get over the fact that others enjoy South Park as entertainment.

We heard the same thing with Beavis and Butthead, Jackass, and other shows like that. We'll hear it again when another show pushes the boudries of what is acceptable on TV. If these people don't like these shows, they simply shouldn't watch.

I enjoy the open, frank attitude put out by Southpark. For some people, they should have gentler, less tantrum-inducing comedy. Personally, I prefer an open discussion with filthy language. Mike, ya know what I mean. cool.gif

I LOVE SOUTH PARK! I saw the movie that was put out. Saten and Saddam portrayed as gay is great. I have nothing against Gays or Lesbians because they are human, and they just love differently. I also have nothing against the mentally retarted and crippled. The way they protray them is funny. Its a cartoon. A cartoon for teens and adults 17 and up. I find offence to nothing they say about women, children( lord knows i dont like them.) and mental, crippled, gay. They may swear...a lot. but hey who doesnt? the way they deal with issues to day is refreshing. they make jokes out of bad situations. I fully support the following on south park: bitch slapping, swearing, poking fun at polititions, celebrities, and everyday people. Go South Park Cows!!WhooooHoooo!!!!PS, the probing i also have nothing against. And aliens they do exist.

The funny thing is that the creators of South Park (I cant remember their names) are hardcore conservatives. You can see a tone of sarcasm going through their shows that poke fun at the PC multiculturalism of American liberals.

Matt Stone and Trey Parker must be great contributors to the conservative cause.
