Did actual torture take place at Abu Ghraib or in any other US facility in Iraq or Afghanistan?

If so, why do so many Americans believe it did not?

If torture has taken place, what should Americans do about it (if anything), since, if torture took place, we footed the bill for it and so have a responsibility for it?

I believe I've already started a topic which covers this area, but there may be sufficient difference to keep this topic alive.

I hope this is different enough to remain open, because one of the posters said yesterday in another thread that no torture had taken place. I believe terms like frat pranks' were used. That's not what I've read, I'm interested in seeing what others have read.
