sour.gif I'm just sick with anticipation of the 2004 election!
Initially, I thought when Gore dropped out, that Kerry had it in the bag. With Bob Graham's recent announcement that he's considering a run, now I'm not so sure. It isn't that I think Kerry is less qualified than Graham, but it amounts to this... Graham has a better stage persona. He tends to be expressive and energetic, while Kerry seems to remind most people of Lurch from the 'Addams Family'.
Howard Dean, is also an effective communicator, and actually has had great success in Vermont. He may very well pull a 'Bill Clinton' and go from virtually unknown to grabbing the nomination, you never know.
Joe Lieberman is a virtual Vulcan when it comes to expressing himself, and I never felt he had a chance. He just doesn't seem to have what it takes to rally people behind him.
John Edwards... There's a lot to be said about Edwards, but the main problem he's going to have is his age. I do, however, think that Edwards would make a great running mate for whomever gets the nomination.
Tom Daschle is ok, but the fact is... It is difficult to like him. He's just not a likeable person. Maybe its just me... I don't know.
Dick Gebhardt... A congressman for president? High profile or not, it is highly unlikely. He needs his feet a little wetter than that if he ever hopes to hold the high office.

The democrats need to clone an army of James Carvilles to win the election. Kerry looks like he can't win more everyday. Why not Dean, he is a new face. The democrats don't need to win, just do okay.

I'm disappointed in all of our choices. dry.gif

Me too. I think that unless Bush makes some huge mistakes (of course he aready has, but you know what I mean, mistakes that are really blatant and can't be spin controlled), we'll have a very 1984 type slate of Democrats. I can't really get excited by any of them.
Stefan Fargus
I don't know... Now with Daschle announcing he won't run, I'm beginning to lean more and more toward Howard Dean. I'm envisioning a Dean/Edwards ticket. I think it looks good, I think many Americans can relate to these people and they actually have a good chance of pulling it off. Hopefully, they'll follow my advice. biggrin.gif

Dean is the best candidate. He isn't a pale, narcistic corporate puppet. Maybe he will be a welcome change compared to Bush. To decide the primary we should just have a reality TV show. Call it runner-up to the president Island. The democrats need a McCain, Dean ticket.
Stefan Fargus
McCain is a good man and I have allot of respect for him. It would be very interesting if he were willing to jump the fence like that, but I'm guessing the likelihood is slim.
Rancid Uncle
Well, he does hate Bush...

I like Dean.

I said Dean earlier, but I'm interested in Clark too.... we'll have to see.

Personally I'm pulling for Dean. I think that he is the least like your typical politician, has the ability to appeal to broad demographics and has demonstrated he can bring innovative ideas to the table. Just check out the online following he has. He has also been able to raise a decent amount of money with small PayPal donations from online readers.

And again I'm revising who I'm for. At the moment I'd say Edwards, but he's not leading, but has potential for future races, IMO. After listening and watching the debates I'm starting to get worried that any of these guys have the gumption to go up against Bush. I don't know, they'll really have to impress me. sad.gif

I'm thinking someone should start a new poll since the people running for the Democratic party are much different now:

Howard Dean
Dick Gephardt
John Kerry
Wesley Clark
Carol Moseley-Braun
Al Sharpton
John Edwards
Joe Lieberman
Daniel Kucinich

Where is Super Clinton when you need her?

It seems the Republicans will be chanting "4 more years!"

It seems like only yesterday we were doing the exact same thing...

I honestly believe Dennis Kucinich will win the nomination. I think many Democrats don't want to have to worry about the Greens spoiling the 2004 election and will vote for Kucinich in the primaries just to get the Greens to drop out of the Presidential race. Many Democrats are going to realize that Dennis will attract the Libertarian vote (the votes Republicans desperately need). Without the Libertarians, the Republicans won't be able to win in swing states. I think Sharpton will run as Dennis's Vice President -- they share many values.

I'm surprised you would feel that way. The Greens are a very nominal force. They are influential only in the regard that if there was a tight election, they could be the force that tips the scales, otherwise they are for the most part, a minor factor. Kucinich lags behind in fundraising and routinely polls around 2%, for being a man of the common people, the Iowa farmers don't appear to be supporting him. I like his views though, he just needs a lot more infuence(i.e.-money!)

CLOSED.

This poll is a bit outdated. Any declared Democrat may feel free to start a more updated poll in this forum if you'd desire. smile.gif
