Ron Reagan has certainly been sprouting up recently.
It all started when he spoke at the DNC about a medical procedure in stem cell research and that ticked me off. Why? Because he was no doctor, or someone suffering from the disease, so then why was he chosen?
Now, he is a contributer to MSNBC, talking about the election and commenting on politicians, why, because he was a politician: no!, because he studied politics? NO. So then why was he chosen?
Ron Reagan is living off the ego of his incredible father as being a liberal rebel calling himself an independent who is simply a disgrace to American politics.

Not really. I did think him giving a speech at the DNC just a few months following his father's death was something of a crass move, both by he and by the DNC. And, you are right about the stem cell thing. According to Michael Reagan, the only Reagan family member that has been active in Alzheimer's work has been him, not Ron.
But, Ron Reagan is and always has been a liberal, even when his father was active in politics. When he'd say or do something and might be considered to be an embarrassment to his father, President Reagan's response was usually to just get a twinkle in his eye and say something along the lines of "well, kids will be kids" and move on from it. I don't think he was really ever embarrassed by any of his children, he just did what parents do - continue to love them and do the best you can. I suspect that somewhere President Reagan was watching Ron's speech at the DNC and saying with a chuckle, "Well, at least he's found an audience."
So, it doesn't tick me off. Ron Reagan seldom agreed with his dad politically when his dad was alive, no reason to think that he should now.
