I have a penchant for starting threads which do not seem to quite fit in any of the listed categories.

------

I see this is as one of the root, basic belief, philosophical subjects which is at the core of every single one of the discussions here on America's Debate. The inhumanity aspect was brought up in "The Single Biggest Problem for Humanity" discussion.

Do you see humans as competing with each other? When we create laws on social structure, are we not engineering the evolution of humans? Should we be aiming for a world where we no longer are competing with each other? Do we compete openly and have our group of humans kill other opposing groups of humans?

Are we inhuman when we do not help our fellow man? How does an individual or community determine when to help others?

Should people be allowed to fail? Can we set up some laws which allow reasonable equal opportunity and if even then some people can not survive, what do we do?

------

What is your basic philosophy? Do you think it is important to think of these problems at this level?
