Well, which do you consider more useful: cable news or broadcast?

I'm a cable news supporter for reasons I'll specify soon.

I like NPR which broadcasts on my local public radio station.

Well here's why I like cable news.

1. News Analysis Shows: Ironic, this is the reason many people hate cable news, too emotional in some people opinion. Though this is sometimes true, it usually true that one get's the most useful information on a person's position when he/she is under pressure. These live, tough interviews are my favorite part of the news. Much better than prepared speeches.

2. Debate show: Big Crossfire fan here biggrin.gif. Sure both sides spin but it is better to recognize it and glean useful information than to avoid it completely.

3. Depth: What?! cable news is deeper. If you flips actively through the all-day news channel you tend to get deeper info that watching a broadcast show. It takes more time and effort, but that's what remote controls are for tongue.gif

I'm sure I'll think of more...

Like Otseng, I prefer NPR. Other than that, I don't catch much broadcast or cable news. I tend to like print media.

Print media and online media. Cable news seems to be geared towards what might sell, not what the truth is.

No more than other types of news, it's all business to a certain extent. Print media, at least at my location, is too lacking in information to make up for its inconvenience. Online is pretty good, but one loses the full benifits of interviews, debate, and other interaction.

I agree; it is comforting to find representatives from both the right and the left outwardly voicing opinions; the debates are always fervant and engaging.

Long live cable news!
