Everyone is aware of the Dan Rather hit piece with the forged memo. If not here is a link,
Dan Rather Memo Scandal I do not know if they are aware that Dan Rather refused to put the information he received from the "authors" family or others that were reputable that clearly refuted the premise of the memo.
Then Dan Rather in his extreme arrogance continued with the false story of the innocent mother of the military that opposed the War in Iraq. He failed once again to make the audience aware that she is an left wing anti-war activist.

So we can now count out CBS as being fair.
Now we have ABC come along and their Political Director Mark Halperin issues this memo to the News Staff prior to the 2nd Debate.
Halperin Memo Dated Friday October 8, 2004
It goes without saying that the stakes are getting very high for the country and the campaigns - and our responsibilities become quite grave
I do not want to set off (sp?) and endless colloquy that none of us have time for today - nor do I want to stifle one. Please respond if you feel you can advance the discussion.
The New York Times (Nagourney/Stevenson) and Howard Fineman on the web both make the same point today: the current Bush attacks on Kerry involve distortions and taking things out of context in a way that goes beyond what Kerry has done.
Kerry distorts, takes out of context, and mistakes all the time, but these are not central to his efforts to win.
We have a responsibility to hold both sides accountable to the public interest, but that doesn't mean we reflexively and artificially hold both sides "equally" accountable when the facts don't warrant that.
I'm sure many of you have this week felt the stepped up Bush efforts to complain about our coverage. This is all part of their efforts to get away with as much as possible with the stepped up, renewed efforts to win the election by destroying Senator Kerry at least partly through distortions.
It's up to Kerry to defend himself, of course. But as one of the few news organizations with the skill and strength to help voters evaluate what the candidates are saying to serve the public interest. Now is the time for all of us to step up and do that right. Such an uneven reporting of events is not journalism but pundancy. ABC has now been exposed as Democrat partisans.
In broadcast "journalism", who have I left out? Oh yes NBC! Well like their counterparts ABC and CBS, they are just as bad.
CLICK ON THE SLANT-O-METER (top right) The coverage after the first debate I understand. Bush lost. The second debate was in my opinion a slight Bush win. Yet, if you followed the coverage by the broadcast media, you would be led to believe that Kerry stomped all over Bush. The coverage is far from accurate and the bias is so far to the Democrat it is not worthy of any definition near "journalism".
The Broadcast networks are doing a not giving honest news. There bias is so far over the top that it has become ridiculous.
Should the Broadcast media who is under the public license of the F.C.C. be sanctioned? Is such a bias coverage far to the Democratic process? What checks and balances should be present to stop such one sided coverage? I do not believe there is a left wing media conspiracy. I do believe there is a huge left wing media bias. The NY Times, LA Times, CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN and PBS give a huge slant in the favor of the left. I would not say so with out a strong scientific link for you all.
A MEASURE OF MEDIA BIAS / SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH The next time you hear a conservative complain about left wing media bias, don't just hush them off as whining. There is real empirical data that supports it.
Do Democrats / Liberals / Leftist not actually notice it OR is there some intellectual dishonesty going on and it is being ignored? I have raised many questions with this post (noted in bold). I have heard the complaints about the Kerry Documentary being broadcast. Is this just a drop in the pond of equal time? When is the last time you saw a movie, T.V. series etc... where the GOOD politician was a Republican and the BAD was a Democrat?
This one documentary being shown in the South hardly touchs the damage to an honest covering of the election that the mainstream media has already managed to inflict.
