Man, I am so glad the Astros lost... if it ended up being a Texas / Mass World Series... election politics would have ruined the series.

Just thought that I'd add here - The Sox won the world series this evening 4 games to 0 against a very impressive Cardinals team. The curse is officially over, I imagine people are going nuts in Boston right now.

Cube, I think that's AWESOME!! Boston must be feeling on top of the world right now. I wonder what the work absenteeism rate is today? laugh.gif

I hate when the world series is boring though. I wanted the Cardinals to win a few games to make it interesting. And I feel sorry for their fans.

Huge Sox fans here, haven't been online much to gloat about it.

So Yankee fans, now that the shoes on the other sock...Maybe next year, enjoy your off-season, we're gonna go have a parade.

I've liked the Red Sox since the days of Ted Williams. I too am glad they won, but wish the Cardinals could have been more competitive.

Not only did the Sox win the Series, but beat teams led by arguably the two best managers in baseball—Joe Torre and Tony LaRussa.

Curt Schilling is perhaps the biggest sidebar story of the series. After encouraging everyone to vote for Bush on "Good Morning America" and agreeing to travel with the Pesident next week, he has now backed out blaming his bad ankle. Despite the ankle, he now claims he was wrong to endorse Bush. What’s going on?

QUOTE
'Make sure you tell everybody to vote - and vote Bush - next week,' he said on ABC's Good Morning America.

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Superstar Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling backed out of his scheduled campaign stops with President Bush [related, bio] here today, citing his injured ankle but also saying it was ``wrong'' of him to have endorsed Bush.
