Every morning the
San Francisco Chronicle has a poll and I thought the one this morning was interesting. The last few years have been rough for the media and I think a lot of people have had their confidence shaken, we have debated various facets of this numerous times.
I'm sure that most of us are going to be flipping around channels tonight as the returns come in, but is there one channel you primarily intend to watch or one anchor you find particularly trustworthy?
---------------------------
Personally, I'm going to primarily be watching CNN but I definitely plan to watch Jon Stewart's coverage tonight.

I chose FOXNews. Just for the irony.

I'll be watching FOX (I like Brit Hume's commentaries), but I too will catch John Stewart when he comes on.

Oh, and I just thought I'd note that
CNN.com has a really snazzy election results page this year. Not only can you view the whole nation but you can drill down to a specific state and see all the counties.

I'll be listening all day on KFI 640 AM in LA. The radio will actually cover all the Props in California and the Pres. Election.

I'm probably going to switch between PBS, NBC, CNN and Jon Stewart (not a huge fan of his, but I like him more than I used to and think he'll be mildly entertaining). PBS cause I really like PBS. I'm so used to CNN because of being in Belgium for three years (our nightly news on the main military station was CNN Headline news) so I'll watch out of habit and NBC just because that's who I usually watch for election coverage.
Oh and I voted for PBS.

I will probably be flipping between Fox News and MSNBC.

CNN is my main. Wolf Blitzer is great. I like it when I cannot tell who a person will vote for and Blitzer certainly fits this mode. I dislike Brit Hume he is a confessed conservative so I doubt his objectivity as a reporter plus his voice is annoying. I will be flipping to CSPAN for the footage that no one else shows.
CNN has great coloring. To me Foxnews looks greyish. Like Leno and Letterman. The Leno set looks so colorful and bright and Letterman's looks dank and gray. Lighting I guess.

Not having cable limits my choices, so I will probably tune in to PBS after watching local news on NBC or CBS.
Although, maybe I should watch Fox to see if they pull a Brokaw (or was it Rather?) and call the election early - and wrong.

Like Daffy, Mike and I are sans cable, so no Daily Show for us.
We'll likely be skipping between the networks and stopping on PBS when everyone else is at commercials. We'll also be checking online streams at
C-Span and
MSNBC. Mostly, we'll be hanging out in the
chatroom discussing the election with the smartest pundits I know.

Heh, well, If all goes well I'll be trying to watch MSNBC as I'm playing World of warcraft. If things go wrong, I'll be switching in between MSNBC and Fox news, with no World of Warcraft.
I'll be watching Tom Brokaw on NBC, because the local affiliate, KXAS, is the only Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex outlet based in Fort Worth. I'm interested in some of the local and state races, which they will cover better than the cable outlets.
BTW: I'm looking forward to an encore of Tim Russert's low tech writing board.

CSPAN I want Election
News. Whenever I want political
News I goto CSPAN. Whenever I want Political Opinion, Editorial, Etc, I'll watch one of the other outlets like CNN, Fox, ABC, CBS, BBC etc.

An election night without Tim Russert's board would be like a day without Sunshine. Russert's board will someday be in the Smithsonian!!!

I'll flip to CNN until I can't bear Blitzer anymore, then go to Fox until my TV falls to it's right and then I'll flop over to Jon Stewart for fair and balanced coverage [mostly].

FNC because I like Brit and the panel. MSNBC is my 2nd choice, and when things get slow on Fox I flip to it.
