I recently discovered the phenomenon of group computing. Protein Folding is a computer experiment used to understand how proteins combine to make biological functions possible. It has real potential to assist scientists in discovering cures for various diseases. If you are interested in donating spare computer cycles while you are online, please join up and run the software. As far as I know, it runs in the background and only uses unused computer cycles. As long as you are online, you are helping. But if your computer is working to it's max ability, the software scales down. It should not slow down your normal routine.
If you are interested, download the software at

I hope this doesn't break any forum rules, but I feel it's a noble cause!
