Ol Sarge
We’ve been having lots of rain lately so the grass shoots up between mowing like never before. I know why don’t you rub a little salt in the wound while you’re at it with out snowstorm and all.

Hey I was thinking of you guys while I was sweating in my tank top and shorts so here’s the thought. I’ve finally found out how to keep my mower and weedeater tuned to crank the first pull and I thought I’d pass this breaking news on to you guys so you could do the same with the snow blower or get ready for Spring.

The number one thing that causes the engine not to crank is stored gas; it just like us gets old. To cure for this aging problem is never keep more than you will use in a couple weeks or by a fuel stabilizer like StaBil or similar product to add to the plastic tank as you refill it. The number two thing on engines with plastic gas lines is leaving fuel in the tank and of course in the fuel line. Almost all weedeaters have such fuel and return lines and must be empty when not in use or they will slowly melt allowing air to enter the fuel line. This causes you to throw the darn weedeater up against the storage shop and go buy a new on after you have pulled on the cord enough to equal the energy had you just cut it with scissors. The lines are easy to replace and can be obtained at a rental center or for $5.00 or so they will do the job while you wait. The next frustration maker is the spark plug and air cleaner, cheaper to just replace them every six months than get your storage building all dented up. Buy a new lawnmower blade before spring or learn how to sharpen and balance the one on the mower because spring showers causes the grass to get out of hand and with a sharp blade your engine will perform almost twice as well.

Well! Start your engines ladies and gentlemen and go blow snow!

Question for debate

Do you have more solutions to add to the list other ideas to prevent pull cord hostility syndrome associated with yard chores?
