It is mandatory to wear your seatbelt in Illinois if you are driving your car, or truck in Illinois.
I have no problem with that as I wear mine all the time.
But today in Frankfort there was an accident that included 3 school buses. Details are sketchy. But I heard 2 cars were involved also.
There were no reports of fatalities that I know of but there were some injuries.
I find it odd that when you drive your car or truck it is mandatory to have a seatbelt and wear it but here are kids in 3 buses that were full from what I heard and Illinois does not require seatbelts on school buses.
My question is do you think school buses sould have seatbelts?
We all have been on a school bus at one time and if the impact is hard enough you can be thrown around.
The intersection it happened at they would be going pretty slow as they were just leaving the school but what if they were going the speed limit and the impact was at a higher speed?
I know it would be very costly but I think we have to protect our kids.
What are your thoughts?
