Ol Sarge
Ogre’s are like onions. You mean they make you cry? Yes, no! Oh, they grow little white hairs in the sunshine? No! Onions have layers! Ogres have layers! Thanks Shreck and donkey.

The Democratic Party, DP, is also like an onion made up of many layers ranging from liberals, environmentalist, trial lawyers, union workers, blacks, Mexican Americans, gays and atheists. In contrast the Republican Party is similar to an avocado with a large center base of Christians surrounded by gooey wishie washy green goo associated with the top 5% paying the majority of the US tax and big business to equate = money = green.

Each layer of the DP requires public support by candidates in order to turn them out for the vote. In the most recent election the onion layer of gay and pro choice were peeled away and the party suffered another resounding defeat. Now the African & Mexican American along with union workers are being peeled away using gay, abortion and other moral issues.

After the 2000 loss the party move was to extreme left and after 2004 defeat they defied logic and endorsed a failing move and pushed more to the left. Please review the GOP link below to logic through the overall failure of the DP. http://www.gopusa.com/commentary/guest/2005/jm_02141.shtml

I’m convinced the DP will be played like a drum as the RP peels away layers of unsupportable tear jerking layers until they simply are not a functional organization.

Questions for debate:

Can the Democratic Party remain intact while supporting all layers of its being politically?

Would a moral move to the center cause the party to divorce outer layers in order to compete and still fail?

Do you agree or disagree that the selection of Governor Dr. Howard Dean will be the stake in the heart of the Democratic Party?
