Jaime
I was so excited to learn that USA Cable Entertainment is planning to bring back the Bionic Woman ('Bionic Woman' rebuilt for USA with Team Todd).

Here's a little known fact for most of you. I was actually named after the Bionic Woman, Jaime Sommers (actress name: Lindsay Wagner).

I am not making this up...I wish I were. That is how COOL my parents were. (You're seeing the sarcasm in this, right?)

Hey expecting parents, why name your child after a loved one or choose their name from a baby book when you can use the TV Guide?!? blink.gif

Hey, you think you got it bad. I was named after a Berry Manilow song, I won't say which one for the sake of anonymity. . . .but I think their is only one that has a name for the title, so much for secrecy. Unlike the bionic woman, I don't think that they will be re-releasing that song laugh.gif

Yeah, well, I'm child #6, and my parents just decided to take my dad's first name and middle name and swap them.

I guess the creativity ends once the number gets up there blink.gif !

Does anyone feel that their name has really messed up their life or drove them to a deviant lifestyle? I ask, because a lot of the arrestee's that I book at my job have really messed up names. For instance, I have booked an Al Capone, Lisa Shot At (American Indian name), Dick Johnson, Fairy Gayer, Clark Kent, John Pickard, Gayle Breezy, Charles Darwin, Bradley Milton, Santa Stewart (the guy was over weight with a long beard, I won't go into what he was being booked for, lets just say he had one too many kids on his lap), Sleeps With Dogs (another American Indian name), etc. I'm not to worried about "protecting the innocent" all these folks won't be breathing free air for a while smile.gif

I think you're onto something, Kisov. When I worked at a criminal law firm we had a few good ones, too.

We had a George Washington charged with Fraud (so much for "I will not tell a lie") and a Michael Tyson charged with domestic battery. There were many more, but that's all I can remember.

Here's something on the same note. Everyone claims to know someone who knows someone who named their twins Orangejello and Lemonjello (pronounced as if they were French names and not American products).

I'm almost sure this is an urban legend and most of us have heard this one. I could be wrong though. Anyone heard of these ill-monickered twins?

So I guess a rose by any other name may not smell as sweet rolleyes.gif
Sorry, now I'm just getting silly.

My ex and I would be the guilty parties in naming Jaime. not spelt (Jamie). I guess we watched too much tv. you were going to be Carrie but you can thank Stephen King for not being called that. Do you know in French your name means love. I personally like the name. It could of been worse. I could of been my mom and named you after your grandmothers. Wouldn't that have been a treat. lol and yes Jaime you knew I would reply. well I think it is a good name. just a question? What name would you have wanted? Curious.
Jaime
Boy, that's admitting a lot there, momof3 (me being one of those 3).

If I could have chosen my own name? That's putting me on the spot. Jaime's not so bad. Although here in the south many seem to think I'm saying Tammy. Huh? huh.gif

I think I'd go with something very traditional and plain, like Jane or Sarah. I like plain; it doesn't force a personality on a person. How many Trixies or Gingers do you know that are top executives of Fortune 500 companies?

How about the rest of you? What name would you have picked? Is it fair to give a child a bizarre name?
Momof3
Jane or Sarah? can't picture that with the last name. But those are good names too. try living with Louise one time. people here think I am saying Lois and of all names Denise. go figure

My parents gave me an odd, ugly name that no one could remember. It ruined my whole childhood. I just wanted a plain ordinary name like other kids
. I liked my middle name and started using it. I finally had my name legally changed to my middle name. My family was very supportive since they were tired of me complaining about my name all the time.

I gave all my children two nice plain good old American names. I told them if they didn't like one to use the other. No complaints, they all like their names.

I hated my name SO much that I used aliases. When in the 4th grade, I called myself Gloria Jean. I was SURE that my life would be so much better if my name was Gloria Jean. I even have a library card with that name on it.
