Hi everyone.
Some of you may have noticed after our last upgrade that some of the topics on the forum appear to be broken. The topics display, but the buttons are not in the proper location, and some posts are simply missing (they haven't been lost, they are just not displaying).
I have been rebuilding every single post on the forum since about 10:00 PM EST last night. I have decided to perform the rebuild very slowly in order to avoid overloading the server, or monopolizing the database.
This lengthy process is estimated to take approximately 20 more hours because there are about 150,000 posts to rebuild. We will pause the process during the server backup cycle in order to preserve usability of the site.
Because this is the equivalent of hitting "edit" and "submit" on every single post, this will likely slow up page loads and post submissions while in progress. Please make sure you "select all" and "copy" each post before you submit it incase the page hangs while submitting.
I ask for your patience while this process continues.
Thanks,
Mike

This process is now complete, and the forum should resume normal speed.
I plan on rebuilding our search indexes tonight, and that will require me to completely disable the forum while the rebuilding occurs. This process is expected to take no more than an hour. I will try to give as much advanced notice as possible.
Thanks for your patience!
Mike
