What ever happened to all that tough talk from earlier this year about either abolishing or completely transforming the INS?

I recall the House passing a bill (H.R. 3231) that would split the INS into two departments but I've not heard anything futrher. No suprise it was caught up in the Senate (they claim to be devising their own bill...as usual).

The actions of our Senators and Representatives speak louder than their words. They claim they want reform of the INS but pass no final bill before their vacation. They claim they want homeland security but pass no bill nor make any reforms before their vacation.

It's so easy to talk all this talk, get the entire nation worked about it and then leave us hanging for a month. It proves to me the depths of the concerns for our saftey by these legistlators.

The INS will be incorporated into the Homeland Joke Dept. Whoopee. Just put landmines along the US-Mexican border and let the ones who cross safely with all their limbs stay.
Mike
So here comes one of my more extreme views.

I guess it's more of a theory (unless you all agree with it cool.gif ).

We need to put troops on our borders. Mexico and Canada.

Heavily arm them, and line them up.

I guarantee we won't have to slaughter more than 100 people illegally attempting to trespass in the United States before the word gets out and the crossings stop.

Would you walk into certain death? I sure as hell wouldn't.

Then, we don't need the INS. We have the military. They defend our borders.

If we could only convince Congress to approve the defense of our country...

People die everyday crossing the border, and the flow is not stopped any by the fear of dying. Putting troops will only cost tax payers a lot of money. It will only make the border crossing more difficult, and a more heated debate. Besides, when did you hear of an Mexican terroist.

(besides the ones who come and kill califonria cops then run back to mexico, and we cant do anything about that because the mexican government doesnt belive in death penalty or life in prison)
Jaime
So what do you offer, drmarcs? Do you think the INS is fine as is, needs to be changed, or needs to be abolished?
Mike
drmarcs, you snuck back in to disagree with me happy.gif tongue.gif .

Yes, people die every day crossing the border, and yes, the flow has not stopped.

But, these people die because of the risk involved, and the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The starve, or drown, or get murdered by other Mexicans, and it is a result of their own choices.

But we don't kill them.

I think that if every person attempting to cross our border were fired upon, and presumably hit, the mass migration into our country would stop quickly.

If one out of 1000 dies, that makes for good odds for potential illegals. If one out of 10 dies, it's likely still worth it. Hell, they would cross even if 1 out of 2 died.

But if 1000 out of 1000 die, the next guy is going to think twice before crossing.

Nobody will cross if it means certain death.

Yeah, it would be rough at first. A lot of people would die. The media would be up in arms. It is such a politically incorrect idea.

Then again, I'm not a politician, so I don't have to be politically correct.

Regarding the Mexican terrorist issue:

You're right, I've never heard of a "Mexican terrorist". Yet.

We'd be foolish to think that terror organizations only send men of Arabic roots.

There are plenty of extreme Hispanic groups that hate us equally as much as Al Qaida or Iraq.

I'm willing to bet that it wouldn't be all that hard to find a Mexican that would die today in order to supply their family with the money needed for a better tomorrow.

Mexican terrorists are on the horizon.

Funny, Mike, that you should speak of TexMex terrorists. The head of Mexico's Parliament recently made a statement that the SW of the USA was Mexico's and that "all necessary implements, force included", will be used to reclaim that land.

What a crock of....
ScreeminDeemin
ill have to agree with mike, death is a powerful persuasive tactic. but we need to unify the INS and undo the damage that clinton did((well it was never really a great working system to begin with))

wanna here a joke? sure you do.

come on, i wouldnt have cared if someone made a crack on white ppl.

CENSORSHIP SUCKS!!!
Jaime
John & ScreeminDeemin - remove the "jokes" or I will. That's not appropriate.
