I'm glad things are coming along fairly well. I'm trying to picture PE as a redhead!

I love the "I've raised children" resolution, btw - I'm going to remember that. thumbsup.gif

I'm glad you're feeling better, PE. I think about you often. BTW, woe be it to me to suggest something which is illegal, but medical marijuana is supposed to be quite good dealing with the side-effects of chemo. Anyway, please continue to keep us posted.

Thank you, logophage.

The first week after I receive the three-day chemo regimen is always one of sickness and regret. There is a super-duper pill called Emend that I can have prescribed to me. It is a great anti-nausea medication. It has one catch: it costs $100 per pill. So far, I have not had a prescription filled for Emend at a drug store. Geez, and they don't even hand out samples... rolleyes.gif

Medical marijuana would be a nice alternative if it were legal, and it would probably be CHEAPER!

Good news--Saturday was my last Adriamycin/Cytoxan chemotherapy! That was pretty nasty stuff. sour.gif

We told my oncologist that our health insurance will not cover the Emend. He said he was going to write to the company to urge them to cover it and--he had his assistant get some samples--YES, SAMPLES!--and give them to me! w00t.gif Hooray!

In three weeks, provided that my heart is functioning okay, I will be receiving three chemotherapy drugs: Carboplatin, Taxotere and Herceptin. And at some point, I will begin radiation therapy.

I want to thank all of you who have provided moral support and prayers, whether in this thread or via PMs. It means a lot to me. wub.gif But I think it's time to ask Jaime to close this thread. Of course, I will be glad to correspond with anyone via PM or by e-mail. flowers.gif

I would much rather talk on this forum about more pleasant things, or things that at least have a greater significance in our country and world.

P.S. My prognosis is good. thumbsup.gif

Well, before it gets closed, let me just say that I'm glad you're done with the Adriamycin/Cytoxan - and even happier that your prognosis is good. thumbsup.gif And I trust I speak for everyone here when I say that, while, appreciated, no thanks are necessary. You're an integral and important part of our community - if we could've (or can) do anything more, we would (and will) do so gladly. We should be thanking you for setting such a standard of frankness, courage, and good humor through all of this - and Curmudgeon for being where many of us would've liked to have been: at your side. wink2.gif You will, of course, continue to be in our thoughts - please feel free to keep us posted any time.

I'm so happy that your prognosis is good PE. You're still in my prayers, good luck with the radiation.
