The new version of our software has officially been released.

I will be performing the upgrade this weekend.

The site may be down for a maximum of 24 hours while I do a clean install and rework of the graphics.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that most of the downtime should occur in the early morning hours Eastern time on Saturday morning.

While the site is down, you will be forwarded to the chat room, which will still work.

I'll be shutting down the site for (hopefully) about 15 minutes while I perform a thorough backup of the site.

If I see anyone in the process of posting at that time, I will wait until the post has been submitted.

We're back up.

No expected downtime until very very late tonight.

I have finally found a big enough window of free time to do a majority of the work for the upgrade.

I will be taking the site down at approximately 1:15 Eastern Standard Time TODAY. Yes, that is about 30 minutes from now.

I expect the site to be down for about 2 hours, but maybe as much as 4 to 6 hours.

When it is back up, expect it to look completely different. Some features, like spellcheck and viewing the last ten posts at the profile screen, will also be missing. I will be modifying and reinstalling these features today. I assure you this is only temporary.

Over the course of the next few days, I will be completely rebuilding the "Patriotic Skin", so we're all going to have to live with the "Default Skin".

Once the new skin is finished, I'll switch everyone over to it automatically.

There is no need to do anything special, as everything is fully backed up and secure.

Everything's going well...

We've got a googlebot in the room, and I had to open the forum up for a bit to let it work its way through the site.
